Latento accumulation tank
utilizes the feature of a wax filling that makes it possible to store a
big amount of heat at a constant temperature when wax changes from the
solid to the liquid phase. While ordinary heat accumulation into water
causes temperature increase, heat accumulates into wax at a permanently
low temperature. Solar energy can be thus gained with higher efficiency
and heat losses in such an accumulation tank are lower.

Solar hot water just after 30
minutes of sunshine
Latento accumulation tank is designed
for the best economy of the stored energy. Its excellent properties are
obvious in additional solar heating and long-time accumulation. Solar
energy can be either used immediately or stored for many days in the
summer, and used for additional heating in the winter.

Instantaneous DHW heating, cooling a solar heat exchanger.
Heat exchanger for afterheating
Latento is afterheated through the heat exchanger of the backup heat
source in case of long periods of no sunshine, or in the winter for
space heating

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES
Latento reaches an excellent level of
stratification in its accumulation tank because water with wax do not move -
they are not whirled by pumps or water flow. Stratification means formation of
water layers by temperature inside an accumulation tank. If traditional sources
like wood, coal, gas or electric energy are used for space heating and DHW
heating, stratification is not much important. Efficiency of such boilers does
not change with the temperature of the heated liquid. On the other hand,
renewable energy sources like solar collectors, a heat pump or up-to date gas
boilers show better efficiency when heating colder liquid. Heat from renewable
sources warms up the bottom part of the tank where the temperature is low.
Thanks to that, renewable sources are used with better efficiency and more heat
gained.

MORE ENERGY FROM THE SUN
The Solar heat exchanger is placed in the
lowest, coldest section of the tank so collectors work with the highest possible
efficiency. Heated water flows into the highest section of the tank and the tank
starts warming from the top. It is not necessary to wait until the tank warms up
completely, after only 30 minutes of sunshine domestic hot water is available

EXCELLENT THERMAL INSULATION
The tank is made of polypropylene, with rigid
foam insulation of excellent heat insulation properties. Unlike traditional
accumulation tanks, Latento needs no additional insulation. In a tank with 95°C
hot water, even after 8-10 days of no withdrawal the temperature sinks to 70°C
only. A further temperature decline in a cooler tank is even much slower. So the
heat losses are really minimized

FRESH DOMESTIC HOT WATER
Domestic hot water is heated instantaneously, in
a stainless-steel heat exchanger made of a flexible pipe. It is first lead
through the bottom part of the tank where water is preheated and cools down the
bottom section of the tank. Since the solar heat exchanger is placed inside the
bottom section, solar collectors work under a lower temperature and so with a
higher efficiency. The flexible pipe then goes on into the upper section of the
tank where water is afterheated. This means that domestic hot water is always
fresh, no Legionella bacteria. In a stainless-steel heat exchanger usually no
formation of scale occurs, and no sludge and rust can be found in hot water.

EASY POSITIONING AND INSTALLATION
A low weight (116 kg) and two handles enable
easy handling. Its washable surface and a square footprint enable placing the
tank anywhere in a house, it can pass even through an 80cm wide door. All
outlets are concentrated on its top so the tank can be placed even in a limited
space. Latento can stand next to a wall or in a corner. The assembly is very
easy and fast

LOW COSTS OF OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Latento cannot suffer from corrosion, that‘s why it can stay in service for all
your life. The tank is maintenance- and trouble-free, and when the heating
system needs renewal, Latento can simply remain in service. Warranty 5 years |
