Whole house ventilation with heat recovery
Such a whole house HRV unit shall be selected that enables air flow control. The need for ventilation is different in various weekdays. A building shall be ventilated even when nobody is in, although at a lower degree. For an empty building, its air volume shall be exchanged about once in 6 hours, under current use it is about once in two hours, and a boost mode shall ensure air exchange in less than one hour. This means that the max. hourly performance of a HRV unit should be at least equal to the volume of the ventilated area.
Beside large whole house HRV units also single room HRV units can be used for individual rooms.
