Encased thermostats are suitable for use in cases when the appearance plays a role, when it is necessary to prevent touching the contacts or when the thermostat shall be placed on the surface of the appliance. Encased thermostats can be fixed to a pipe by means of a fixing spring, thus they are suitable for return temperature control, for heating water for floor heating etc. Mechanical fixing: Contact thermostats – shall be fixed to the monitored pipe using the attached spring. Two small projections in the lower third of the case are intended for fixing the spring. In order to improve the heat transfer, heat transfer paste should be applied on the rear contact surface. Pocket-mounted thermostats – the pocket has a male ½“ NPT thread and shall be screwed into a sleeve installed in a place where temperature needs to be monitored. The thermostat probe shall be inserted in the pocket as deep as the body sits firmly on the pocket. It shall be secured in this position using a screw. Capillary thermostats – the probe shall be inserted in an installed pocket and fixed with securing spring. The thermostat itself needs to be fixed with M3 or M4 screws to a suitable place. With perforated pocket – used for air temperature monitoring. They shall be fixed using M3 or M4 screws, ensuring fee air supply for the pocket. |
