Regulus Heat Pumps

Top quality, in-house development

Heat pumps are the most efficient way to heat and cool your home. They achieve efficiency levels of up to 400 % – from every consumed kWh of electricity, they produce 3–4 kWh of heat, reducing operating costs by up to 70 %. They draw energy from renewable sources – air, ground, water – and operate without CO₂ emissions.

The offer includes our own Regulus RTC air/water heat pumps and Swedish CTC heat pumps for air/water and ground/water systems. Both product lines provide not only economical heating, but also active cooling in the summer months. They excel in high efficiency, reliability and long service life. We stand behind the quality of all our heat pumps, which is why we provide a warranty of up to 10 years.

Types of Heat Pumps

Air-to-Water

The most popular choice for quick installation and affordability.

  • Low initial investment – ideal for smaller budgets
  • Easy installation without excavation work
  • Works even at temperatures down to -22 °C
Air / Water

A great solution for renovations and new builds.

Ground-to-Water

The most efficient choice for long-term savings.

  • Up to 30 % lower operating costs than air-to-water heat pumps
  • Higher initial investment
  • Stable performance independent of outdoor temperature
  • Can be implemented with a ground collector or borehole
  • Suitable for passive cooling as well
Ground / Water

Ideal for new homeowners looking for maximum efficiency.

Efficient heating that makes sense even without subsidies

We design heat pump systems to be efficient, reliable, and economical on their own. If subsidy programs are available, our specialists will handle all the paperwork for you.

4 good reasons to choose Regulus

1 /Leading the way for more than 30 years

We were there at the birth of the first heat pumps in the Czech Republic and we continue to set the standards today. From a small company, we have grown into a leader with 180 employees and our own manufacturing facilities. We are not a trend, we are reliability you can count on even decades from now.

2 /The key is the right system design

Heating is not just about the heat pump. Our engineers focus on every detail and combine additional sources such as solar panels or fireplace inserts to ensure the system operates efficiently and saves you thousands every year. Our solutions may seem complex, but precision is exactly what makes the difference between a standard setup and a perfectly synchronized technology system.

3 /24/7 service support and online monitoring

Our systems are under continuous online supervision, allowing technicians to resolve issues before you even notice them. Unlike many other companies, we have our own service network throughout the Czech Republic, so you won’t have to wait days for repairs.

4 /We play fair – either the right solution or no solution

We do not offer one-size-fits-all packages. Even two identical houses may require completely different solutions. While a family with children may benefit from a higher-capacity heat pump for fast water heating, seniors may prefer a more cost-efficient option. We evaluate every project individually, and if we see that a heat pump is not the right investment for you, we will tell you honestly.

How much can I realistically save with a heat pump?

A heat pump can reduce heating costs by 30–70 % compared to conventional heating systems. From every consumed kWh of electricity, it produces 3–4 kWh of heat, because it obtains the remaining energy free of charge from the surrounding environment. For a standard family house, this means annual savings of around CZK 30,000–50,000 on heating and domestic hot water. We will calculate your exact savings based on your home’s parameters.

What is the return on investment for a heat pump?

The investment in a heat pump usually ranges between CZK 200,000–350,000, while heating and hot water costs can be reduced by tens of thousands of crowns annually. The exact savings depend on the original heating and domestic hot water source. Even without subsidies, replacing an electric boiler usually results in a payback period of approximately 5 years. Replacing solid fuel boilers generally has a longer payback period, but this is balanced by significantly higher comfort, fully automatic operation, and lower environmental impact.

Do heat pumps work reliably even in winter?

Modern CTC air/water heat pumps are designed for Scandinavian conditions and operate efficiently even at temperatures down to -25 °C. Ground/water and water/water systems provide stable efficiency all year round, regardless of outdoor temperature.

How much space is required for heat pump installation?

With an air/water heat pump, space requirements are minimal. The outdoor unit is similar in size to an air conditioning unit, while the indoor unit takes up approximately the same space as a standard refrigerator.

For a ground/water system, a free garden area of approximately 300–500 m² is required for the ground collector (installed at a depth of 1.2–1.5 m). If you do not have enough space, a deep borehole may be the solution, as it requires minimal surface area, although installation is more demanding.

During the initial consultation, we will assess your property and recommend the most suitable solution for your specific conditions. Proper system design is essential for long-term efficient operation.

Is a heat pump noisy during operation?

The modern air/water heat pumps we offer are extremely quiet. At a distance of 5 m, their noise level is comparable to a standard refrigerator (around 35 dB). The indoor unit is virtually silent.

How long does heat pump installation take?

The installation of an air/water heat pump usually takes 2–3 days. For ground/water systems, additional time is needed for the borehole or ground collector installation (3–5 days). Everything depends on the specific conditions and the readiness of the property. Installation also includes thorough user training and system setup.

Can I combine a heat pump with a photovoltaic system?

Yes, combining a heat pump with photovoltaics is an ideal solution for maximum savings. Our heat pumps feature intelligent control systems that optimize the use of your own solar electricity for heating and domestic hot water. In summer, you can also use excess energy for home cooling.

What are the real operating costs of a heat pump?

Annual costs for heating and domestic hot water with a heat pump for a standard family house (120 m²) range between CZK 15,000–25,000. The exact amount depends on the size and insulation of the house, the number of occupants, and the desired indoor temperature. For comparison, heating the same house with gas would cost approximately CZK 30,000–50,000 per year.

Does a heat pump require regular maintenance?

The heat pumps we offer are designed for long-term maintenance-free operation. We only recommend an annual preventive inspection by our service technician. Thanks to remote monitoring, we can also resolve most potential issues online, often before you even notice them.

What is the lifespan of a heat pump?

With a high-quality heat pump, you can expect a lifespan of more than 20 years. The key to long service life is proper installation and regular maintenance. We stand behind the quality of our heat pumps, which is why we provide a warranty of up to 10 years. We also operate a service network throughout the Czech Republic, and thanks to remote monitoring, we can detect potential issues before you even notice them – helping prevent unexpected expenses.

What should you keep in mind when choosing a heat pump?

Keep in mind that a cheap heat pump may end up costing you much more in the long run. If the supplier disappears after a few years, you may lose access to service, spare parts, and technical support. That is why it is important to choose a stable manufacturer with a strong tradition.

Regulus has been a pioneer in energy-efficient heating in the Czech Republic since 1992. We are one of the few companies with our own development center, testing department, and nationwide service network. You can rely on us to still be here for you in 10 or even 20 years when you need service or a system upgrade.
