Total adjustable heat output is 5-18 kW, of which 3.5-12 kW to heating water
Fires and stoves have always been considered sources of radiant heat, to heat the room they are installed in. With the increasing energy efficiency of buildings that brings lower and lower heat consumption for heating, the radiant heat is becoming less important while there is a new demand to utilize the fireplace for heating in other rooms, too.
An ideal solution seems to be represented by hydronic fireplace inserts. The heat exchanger draws most of the heat from the fireplace and transfers it to heating water, making it available for other heat sinks in the building – underfloor heating, radiators, hot water storage tank, pool etc. In hydronic fireplaces of a high-quality design, up to 75% of the total heat output can be utilized this way.
