Regulus Photovoltaic Panels

Bifacial technology with up to 30 % higher performance

Regulus photovoltaic panels with double-glass technology are among the top solutions in solar energy. Thanks to bifacial half-cut solar cells, they capture energy from both sides – resulting in up to 30 % higher output compared to standard panels.

The photovoltaic panels offer high load capacity, withstand strong winds, and allow vertical installation, making them ideal for fences or noise barriers. They also perform excellently in low-light conditions or partial shading.

We manufacture them in the EU, in Slovakia, they have passed strict testing, and we stand firmly behind them. That is why we guarantee a 30-year performance warranty, 20 years against manufacturing defects, and at least 88 % efficiency even after three decades of operation.

We supply Regulus photovoltaic systems both as standalone solutions and as part of a complete energy system – for example together with a heat pump.

What savings can I realistically expect with photovoltaics?

A photovoltaic water-heating system can reduce your domestic hot water production costs by up to 60–70%. With a standard photovoltaic system, savings depend on the size of the installation and how you use the generated electricity – typically, 50–70% of total household consumption can be covered. Higher coverage is possible if you have a sufficiently large battery and can maximize the use of generated energy.

The most efficient solution is a combination of photovoltaics and a heat pump, where you can achieve energy cost savings of up to 80%. We will gladly prepare a precise savings calculation for your home during a no-obligation consultation.

What is the return on investment for photovoltaics?

For photovoltaic power systems, the estimated return on investment without subsidies in Czech conditions is usually between 8–12 years for standard installations. In some cases, where self-consumption is high (for example when combined with a heat pump or electric vehicle), the payback period can be even shorter.

What makes Regulus photovoltaic panels better than standard panels?

Regulus bifacial panels can capture sunlight not only from the front side but also from the rear side. Thanks to this, they can produce up to 30% more energy depending on the surface beneath the panel. They also use half-cut cell technology, which reduces electrical resistance, improves performance under partial shading, and increases overall panel efficiency.

The double-glass design additionally ensures higher mechanical durability and longer lifespan. Our panels are manufactured in the EU and come with a 30-year performance warranty. Even after this period, we guarantee 88% of the original output.

Can I install a photovoltaic water-heating system with my existing water heater?

Yes, the photovoltaic water-heating system is designed to connect to your existing water heater. The system simply complements your current heating setup and reduces energy costs. If you do not have a suitable water heater, we offer our own range of storage tanks with the necessary accessories.

The basic system can also be expanded with a 3 kW electric heating element. Installation is simple and fast – usually completed within a single day.

Can photovoltaic systems be used efficiently during winter months?

Yes, photovoltaic systems generate electricity even in winter – often more efficiently than expected. Lower solar radiation intensity is partially offset by lower temperatures, as solar panels perform best in cooler environments. Thanks to bifacial (double-sided) cell technology, they can also capture reflected light from snow or bright surfaces, increasing performance.

With vertical east–west installation, it is possible to achieve more even electricity production throughout the day – even during periods when the sun is low. Modern panels also offer better efficiency in diffused light, meaning they continue producing energy on cloudy days.

And although winter months do not generate as many kilowatt-hours as summer, the system remains beneficial year-round when combined with battery storage, water heating, or a heat pump.

How demanding is photovoltaic system maintenance?

A photovoltaic system is practically maintenance-free. Double-glass panels offer high mechanical resistance and naturally clean themselves during rainfall. In case of heavy dirt buildup (for example pollen or dust during long dry periods), rinsing the panels with water may help restore efficiency. Electronic components do not require regular maintenance.

For maximum system performance, we can perform regular inspections upon request, though these are optional. Overall, maintenance is minimal and requires no technical expertise.

Can photovoltaic systems be combined with heat pumps? What are the benefits?

Yes – and it is the most efficient way to make full use of solar energy. A heat pump powered by photovoltaic electricity operates with up to 400% efficiency – producing 3–4 kWh of heat from just 1 kWh of electricity.

To ensure maximum efficiency, we developed smart control software that adapts heat pump performance to current photovoltaic production. Excess energy is stored in a special HSK PV thermal store, allowing it to be used in the evening or during periods without sunlight. Thanks to subsidies, this combination is now more affordable than ever and can significantly reduce your energy costs.

Can I install photovoltaic panels even if my roof does not have ideal orientation?

Absolutely. Although a south-facing roof with a 35–40° angle is ideal, our photovoltaic systems also work efficiently with east–west orientation or on flat roofs. Thanks to the bifacial technology of our panels, we achieve excellent results even in less favorable conditions.

We can also install panels vertically (on fences or facades) or on carports and pergolas. Every home has unique conditions, which is why we always provide individual assessment and design the optimal solution.

How long does photovoltaic installation take and how disruptive is it for the house?

Installation of a photovoltaic water-heating system takes 1–2 days, while larger electricity-generation systems are usually completed within 5 days, depending on the size and complexity of the installation. Structural impact on the house is minimal – mounting brackets are securely anchored to the roof structure, and roof penetrations are installed watertight.

Electrical wiring is routed in cable ducts or beneath plaster, while the inverter and battery storage (if included) are placed in the utility room. With professional installation, there is no impact on roof statics and no risk of leaks. After installation, the system is connected to the home electrical panel and approved by the electricity distributor.

How much does photovoltaic panel performance decrease over the years?

With high-quality panels like those from Regulus, performance degradation is very gradual. We guarantee that after 10 years the panels will still retain at least 92% of their original output, and after 30 years at least 88%. Annual degradation is only around 0.5%, which is significantly lower than with standard panels. This gradual decrease is already factored into the return on investment.

The entire system commonly lasts 30 years or more. You only need to account for replacement of certain components – such as the inverter (after approximately 10–15 years) or the battery (15–20 years) if the system includes energy storage.
